We arrived in Margao late afternoon on Saturday 21 December
Views of Margao on 22 December morning:
Panoramic view from the front windows of "our" hotel room 502 in Goa
The busy side street running past the hotel & the view from the side windows of our room
Our first trip to Benaulin beach was on Christmas Eve
Lunch of two favourite dishes at Pedro's beach bar/restaurant - chicken liver black pepper fry with marinated red onions &
prawns chilli fry in a rich tomato & onion gravy with a local Goa
King's beer, before setting off for a swim at our favourite beach
Enjoying post swim drinks - Sheila with a plain lassi with rum & Derek a lime soda & another beer
Nice Royal Enfield Bullet parked at the beach head
Christmas Day in Margao
Our favourite haunt in town - Longuinhos bar, restaurant & confectioners
One of the large mirrors / The cake stand
Few Indians have ovens in their homes, so Longuinhos does a good trade in takeaways of whole roast turkeys &
suckling pigs for local families / Light lunch of pastry
filled with the delicious Goan special spicy pork sausages, which are similar to the Iberian chorizo/chouriço introduced to Goa during Portuguese rule (1510 - 1961 CE)
View out of the restaurant to the busy town centre
