The college was founded in 1524 CE. During the Civil War King Charles I lived & held his Parliament in
the Great Hall here. The main quad was completed in 1600 CE with funds from the grateful monarch.

The Randolph was built in 1864 CE by the architect William Wilkinson. It opened as a hotel two years later.
It was named after the Randolph Gallery in the nearby Ashmolean Museum.
The above right picture shows the extension added in 1952 CE. The building is Grade II listed.
